Good morning, what’s your full name, please?
My full name is Kaisy Nguyen.
Could you please give me your ID card?
Here you are.
Nice to meet you, my name is…, and I come from…
I’ll begin by asking you some questions about yourself.
Can you tell me how far do you live from here?
Well, it’s easier for me to take this test today because I’m living right here in this city, just 20 minutes go by bus.
Do you think computers/mobile apps are helpful?
Obviously. Let’s imagine how human lives will be without them within only 1 day.
What mobile apps do you use the most?
Because I’m working as a journalist so I find the Photoshop mobile app vulnerable.
Can you remember an advertisement you saw on TV in your childhood?
Well, I really want to talk about a definitely meaningful advertisement that touched me deeply when I was little. It’s an advertisement of milk with a catchy song and fascinating CG character and a moving story.
Do you like it when popular people appear in advertisements?
Yes, I suppose that it’s a good idea to attract people in order to watch the advertisement, especially the fan of the famous person.
Do you believe they are saying the truth?
I guess they just show off the benefits and ignore the drawbacks in the advertisement. It likes a half of the truth.
Thank you very much. Let’s move on cue card topic. Here’s the question:
Talk about an instance when you were saving money for something. Please say
– What did you save for?
– How did you do it?
– How long did you have to save money for?
I’d like you to speak on this topic for 2 minutes. Before that, you have 1 minute to prepare. And here’s some paper and pen for you to make some notes if you wish.
Well, could you please begin.
When I was little and lived in the countryside, once I saved some money to buy a bicycle for me.
Because my school was far away from the residence. So, it was in the time of hardship for me to move all the way by walking. Besides, the number of transportation was fewer than the present days in this area. Sometimes, I used to go to school on my father’s motorbike but when he was in hurry, I had to walk alone for the school. My mother was unable to move with me as she had to take of the household. So, I started saving money for a bicycle. Honestly, it was an extremely difficult situation for me as I was unable to get the huge amount of money needed for this purpose.
I saved money for over a year. In detail, even I did not get a huge amount of pocket money so it was difficult for me to save money. If I got $5, I used to spend half of it for breakfast and saved the remaining half. I saved money in this ways for around a year. Sometimes, I was unable to save as I had to spend the entire pocket money for some other purposes in the school.
Day to day, I also saved from a donation of my father for different tasks. Even I bargained with the shopkeepers to save a very little amount as well to increase my fund. I saved all the money at a small depository at my home and finally at the end of the year, I broke that and found the amount. However, it was one of the greatest achievement of my life. In fact, the amount of money was huge to me in that days.
I bought a bicycle with the money. But my father had to add some additional cash to mine. He was happy to know about the saving and the habit that I formed at that early age. I was extremely glad about the bicycle. I used that as my primary vehicle to move in places.
Thank you very much.
Do girls and boys save for the same purpose?
I suppose that only does a boy got married, he knows how to save money for his family. He will try his best to support his family the best. Before that, most of the boys didn’t know how to save money. In contrast, most of the girls can save money well for their future needs.
What purpose do children normally save money for?
In my opinion, it’s hard for the children to save money because they have a variety of joys and they even want to enjoy them all so there’s no doubt when they have no money in their pocket at the end of a month. In some cases, there’s still a great number of children know how to save money. For examples, a child needs to do his/her housework to earn money in order to buy a brand-new toy because their parents don’t want to. Besides, it’s also the mature and independent ones who know exactly why his/her need to save money, maybe for the further purposes in the near future.
Thank you very much. It’s the end of our test.
