Good morning, what’s your full name, please?
My full name is Kaisy Nguyen.
Could you please give me your ID card?
Here you are.
Nice to meet you, my name is…, and I come from…
I’ll begin by asking you some questions about yourself.
– Do you work or study?
I’m studying for a Master degree at the Academy of Journalism and Communication.
– Can you tell me how far do you live from here?
Well, it’s easier for me to take this test today because I’m living right here in this city, just 20 minutes go by bus.
– How long have you been living there?
I was born in this city and I’m in love with it.
– Describe your hometown.
My city is a city with many monument sites and it’s the area of the mountain near my city which has the fresh and airy environment with the picturesque village and eco-resorts.
Do you use a dictionary?
Yeap sure. I use my dictionary app on my iPhone nearly daily.
What is better, an online or a paperback dictionary? Why is that?
I guess that it depends on the users’ purpose and condition. In detail, you only can use an online dictionary if you have the Internet. Meanwhile, it’s pretty hard to bring the paperback dictionary with you everywhere and anytime.
How would you feel if someone gave you a dictionary as a gift?
From my point of view, I respect every gift that someone gives me, including a dictionary.
Thank you very much. Let’s move on cue card topic. Here’s the question:
Describe an important event in your life that you have recently celebrated. Please say
What was it?
Who was celebrating it with you?
How did you celebrate it?
I’d like you to speak on this topic for 2 minutes. Before that, you have 1 minute to prepare. And here’s some paper and pen for you to make some notes if you wish.
Well, could you please begin.
Well, I still remember that I have a variety of important events in my life which are absolutely meaningful to me. Among them, I would like to talk about the most auspicious ceremony of my life, my marriage, which happened in November 2012.
When I got married, I was 24 years old at that time. Since I’m a kind of traditional and introverted personality, my wedding was held in a simple way but it was extremely special and cozy. We invited most of our close friends and relatives, then the celebrations started three days in advance. We had to arrange all the amenities for the guests who came by; such as hotels to stay, food and drinking arrangements and we had to make sure all of them were pretty pleasant. However, another biggest challenge I faced was the raising of the fund for the occasion. Fortunately, everything went well and the day is still a wonderful experience to think about.
On the flip side, the greatest reason why that day is really important is that ever since then, I witnessed a dramatic change in the way I live. I had to become more responsible and after all, I got someone to share my life together. I gradually realized, the biggest part of life is to become shoulders and shade, to someone who is important to us, especially at the time of crisis. I would like to conclude by saying that now I am happily living with my parents, husband, and son, and my marriage was the first significant step towards this journey.
Thank you very much.
What is needed for an event to be successful?
I suppose that it depends on how we prepare for it. Therefore, whatever we do, we need to do it with a serious attitude and understand clearly what the attendants want to join in the event. Besides, a good decoration also plays an important role in each event which attracts people at the first sight.
Do you like big or small celebrations? Why?
Instead of focusing on the scale of the celebrations, I’d like to think about with who I’ll spend time. Besides, even small celebrations for two persons can mark the unforgettable moments as well.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of big events?
Well, big events are usually impressive and attract the attention of people easily. Besides, we can add many activities and gifts to these events. However, we have to invest a lot in organizing this type of event and they offer a great number of people to make it.
Thank you very much. It’s the end of our test.
